Cost of Root canals:
Root canals can range from $800-1400/tooth depending on how many roots tooth has and also if it is initial root canal or retreating a previously done root canal. Your PPO insurance usually pays portion of this and you are responsible for your copay. Typically you do need crown as well after getting a root canal to make sure that tooth does not break off.
Lot of people think that it is cheaper to get tooth pulled out and get an implant later on to save money from root canal, however, that is not true! It’s cheaper to save your tooth (if we can save it) rather than getting an implant or bridge. That being said, if we think that given tooth might not last next few years than we will recommend to move towards with extraction/bone graft and implant.
