Wisdom Teeth Removal
The wisdom teeth are often problematic molars that need to be removed when they appear in the late teens or early twenties. At Westinghouse Dental, we offer gentle wisdom teeth removal for our patients that have issues with these final molars. We offer sedation options to make this procedure as comfortable as possible, including IV sedation. Wisdom teeth are the four rear molars that come in at the end of your oral growth cycle. The problem with these molars is there is often not enough room for them in the mouth to fit comfortably. Due to this issue, the wisdom teeth may grow in crooked; some teeth point toward the front of the gum or toward other teeth instead of emerging through the top of the gum. This is referred to as an impacted wisdom tooth and removal is usually the best restorative dentistry option. If a wisdom tooth becomes impacted or grows incorrectly, it can cause many oral health issues. It can cause misalignment of the existing teeth or bite, requiring orthodontic care to fix. They can also become infected or put pressure on the sinuses. Due to these complications, if there are any signs your wisdom teeth may cause problems, we will suggest removal.Gentle Wisdom Tooth Extraction
While no one looks forward to having a tooth removed for any reason, our team at Westinghouse Dental can make your wisdom teeth removal procedure as stress free as possible. In most cases, all four wisdom teeth are removed at one time. Due to the invasive nature of this procedure, we offer IV sedation which can put you into a deeply relaxed state while we perform the extractions. You will be conscious, but most people do not remember the procedure after they come out of sedation. Our doctors are experienced in oral Surgery procedures and provide excellent restorative dental services in Georgetown, TX.
Cost of this procedure:
Cost of wisdom teeth extractions can range from $295-$450/tooth depending on how far it is inside a jaw bone (more it is covered by bone, more it costs). Most people decide to remove all four wisdom teeth along with IV sedation in that way they have no memory of surgical procedure. IV sedation does cost extra. Your PPO insurance usually pays portion of this and you are responsible for your copay.
