3D xray (CBCT) dentists in Georgetown Roundrock

Not all dentist offices are created equal. In fact, there can be a wide discrepancy in the quality of treatment patients receive, particularly if a dental office doesn’t invest in the latest technology.

Because providing exceptional patient care is our primary concern at Westinghouse Dental, we aim to offer the latest technological advances in the field of dentistry. To that end, we’re pleased to use 3D dental x-ray technology on our patients.

What Is 3D Dental X-Ray Technology?

As you might imagine, 3D dental x-ray (CBCT) technology takes pictures that show a 3D version of the patient’s mouth.

Naturally, this level of detail helps us improve our diagnostic accuracy. As our patient, that means you receive the best possible dental care!

How Are 3D X-Rays Taken?

With 3D dental technology, you’ll stand still while our camera rotates around your head, doing a complete 360-degree scan. The entire process is a quick one. As a result, there is less risk of movement, eliminating the need for retakes.

How Do Patients Benefit from 3D Dental X-Ray Technology?

Patients benefit in the following ways from 3D dental x-ray technology:

  • Increased Diagnostic Accuracy. Because 3D helps our dentists can make more accurate diagnoses, our patients receive better treatment. For instance, the high quality of the 3D images means that dentists can pinpoint dental problems at their onset, allowing for early intervention, typically resulting in less invasive, less costly dental work. Most dental specialists now recommend use of CBCT before Dental implant placement or any other complicated surgical procedure.
  • Less Radiation Exposure. With 3D technology, patients aren’t exposed to unnecessary radiation. Instead, they receive the lowest possible effective radiation dose.
  • Best Possible Imagery. Sometimes it’s helpful to have multiple views of a patient’s mouth. In those cases, it’s nice to have a machine that takes 2D and 3D images.

Are 3D X-Rays Safe?

While many people are worried about radiation exposure from X-rays, the radiation emitted from a 3D x-ray machine is extremely small. For instance, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has cleared children to receive dental x-rays. If you’re still worried about this topic, please mention it at your next appointment. We’re happy to discuss your concerns.

  • We were visiting from out of town and my son had a dental emergency. Dr. Wicheta and his staff were kind enough to see us that afternoon. Everyone was extremely comforting and helped calm the situation. My son received excellent medical care and I am very grateful for this Doctor and his team. I recommend Westinghouse Dental because they care about their patients and provide high quality service.

The front office lady was amazing. And the dental assistant who cleaned my teeth was incredible.

  • It’s rare to receive a thorough and sincere visit to medical professionals, but I have found the anomaly with this office. The office was pristine and clean. The technology they used did not feel like your average dentist office. Quick appointment response time for confirmation and multiple ways to remind a busy person. I was greeted warmly when I entered the office. My “assistant” was/is phenomenal. The dentist was emotionally intelligent and did not go further than what I was comfortable with. A pleasant experience is almost too simple of a phrase to describe what my experience was. It is couture to patients who don’t feel pushed to do everything all at once, happy employees which means they also feel valued, and their patience are what makes them unique. Finally thank you Starla for the smiles and laughs, Dr. Wichita for your gentleness, the assistant who provided technical assistance, and to my ROCKSTAR dental assistant, she was a peaceful advocate for feeling comfort and providing a beautiful experience from the time I was called back for my exam until my final departure. Then she double downed and did a follow up call the following day. I found a gem and I am here to stay!

  • This place is amazing!!! I have always had a lot of anxiety going to the dentist due to past experiences, but after going here I can say my anxiety has lessened! Courtney was so gentle and caring while cleaning my teeth! I barely felt it and had no discomfort after! I will definitely be seeing her again in 6 months! Dr Wicheta explained everything step by step that I needed to take care of and put my fears at ease! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!!!
